About The Position

Provide assistance in the classroom as directed by the teacher(s). This role involves adhering to federal, state, and local policies and procedures related to pre-kindergarten programs, participating in professional growth activities, and assisting in carrying out the instructional program. The aide will help maintain student records, prepare and maintain instructional materials and equipment, and support teacher-planned activities. A key responsibility is assisting in the teaching/learning process by working with individuals and small groups of students to reinforce skills as directed by the teacher. The position also requires the ability to assist in administering and scoring objective assessment instruments and maintain flexibility in performing duties while prioritizing district goals and fostering positive working relationships.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 48 college hours required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test (for Title I campus)
  • Ability to work with students and teachers
  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work within deadlines
  • Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed

Nice To Haves

  • School office experience or volunteer experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in administering and scoring objective assessment instruments.
  • Maintain flexibility in the performance of required duties.

  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with others.
  • Supervise individual and small group activities as directed by the teacher.
