AI Solution Architect

Booz Allen Hamilton•McLean, VA
•$112,800 - $257,000

About The Position

Organizations are increasingly using artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and modern software architectures to solve complex mission challenges. Delivering these capabilities requires technical leaders who can connect strategy to implementation and turn emerging technologies into secure, scalable solutions. As a Solution Architect, you know how to translate complex technical requirements into production-ready systems. We’re looking for an experienced Solution Architect like you to support innovative AI and cloud initiatives for national security. As a Solution Architect on our team, you’ll design and deliver production-grade AI systems, cloud-native platforms, and reusable architecture baselines. You’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, product owners, and mission partners to develop agentic AI systems, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, multi-agent orchestration, and DevSecOps capabilities. You’ll also contribute to platform architecture, execute complex technical workstreams, and help move research and prototypes into working systems under demanding timelines. With your ability to operate across AI architecture, cloud infrastructure, and software engineering, you’ll help establish repeatable technical patterns and accelerate innovation across the mission.

Requirements

  • Experience architecting and delivering enterprise AI, cloud, and platform solutions for government or regulated environments
  • Experience designing and delivering production-grade AI systems using agentic frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AWS Bedrock Agents, or CrewAI
  • Experience architecting highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud environments using platforms such as AWS services or Kubernetes
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code capabilities using tools such as GitHub Actions, Terraform, Helm, or CloudFormation
  • Experience programming in Python and at least one additional language, including TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or Go
  • Experience leading or co-architecting research, development, or prototyping initiatives in ambiguous environments and moving concepts into working systems
  • Knowledge of federal, Department of Defense, or government programs, including IL4, IL5, FedRAMP, or AWS GovCloud
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NVIDIA NeMo, NeMo-RL, Megatron-LM, or similar large-scale model training frameworks
  • Experience with NVIDIA platform technologies, including NIM, TensorRT-LLM, or Triton Inference Server
  • Experience with specification-driven development workflows or AI-native software development lifecycle practices
  • Experience using Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI-enabled engineering tools
  • Experience implementing GitOps and declarative infrastructure patterns using Argo CD or similar technologies
  • Experience developing internal platform tools or developer portals, including Backstage or similar platforms
  • Experience working in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
  • Knowledge of GPU cluster management, distributed training strategies, or machine learning infrastructure at scale
  • Knowledge of emerging AI protocols, including Model Context Protocol, Agent-to-Agent, or similar agentic communication standards
  • Ability to provide technical guidance, mentor architects and engineers, or lead architecture and platform engineering teams

Responsibilities
