About The Position
The Advisor Application Developer – AI Software Engineer is a senior hands-on engineering role responsible for developing, modernizing, and supporting large-scale, database-driven healthcare applications. The role combines expertise in Java, JavaScript, SQL, relational databases, AWS RDS, application performance, and integrations with AI-assisted software engineering. The engineer uses GitHub Copilot and advanced AI models for development, code analysis, testing, debugging, complex problem solving, and legacy application modernization. The position includes technical leadership through solution design, peer reviews, troubleshooting, mentoring, and the promotion of engineering best practices. It also involves ensuring AI-generated solutions are reviewed, tested, secured, and validated before implementation.
Requirements
- Ten or more years of application development or software engineering experience supporting complex enterprise applications.
- Advanced hands-on expertise in Java and JavaScript, including REST/SOAP APIs, application design, testing, debugging, and modern development practices.
- Strong experience with SQL, relational databases, PostgreSQL/Oracle, AWS RDS, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot and advanced AI models for coding, code analysis, refactoring, testing, debugging, documentation, and technical problem solving.
- Strong experience with solution design, code reviews, technical specifications, complex troubleshooting, mentoring, and modernization of enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and modernize enterprise-scale Java, JavaScript, and database-driven healthcare applications.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL and AWS RDS solutions, including query tuning, indexing, execution-plan analysis, and application performance.
- Use GitHub Copilot and advanced AI models for coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, code reviews, documentation, and technical analysis.
- Use heavy reasoning models for complex problem solving, architecture, root-cause analysis, performance issues, and legacy-code analysis, and coding or lightweight models for routine engineering tasks.
- Support REST APIs, healthcare integrations, and HL7 interfaces, where applicable.
- Design, develop, review, test, document, and implement complex Java, JavaScript, SQL, and database-driven solutions.
- Promote modular, maintainable, secure, and testable software engineering practices through code and design reviews.
- Design and optimize AWS RDS and relational database solutions, including complex SQL, indexing, query tuning, and performance analysis.
- Develop and support REST APIs, enterprise integrations, and healthcare/HL7 interfaces.
- Provide complex technical and production support across application, database, and integration layers.
- Review technical specifications and recommend solutions for modernization, performance, scalability, reliability, and technical-debt reduction.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and engineering guidance to development team members.
- Ensure AI-generated solutions are appropriately reviewed, tested, secured, and validated before implementation.
