About The Position

AT&T is seeking an experienced AI-enabled Software Development Architect to help software engineering teams adopt AI-first engineering practices and modern AI coding technologies. This hands-on technical role serves as an architect, advisor, and AI engineering expert, helping teams move from experimentation to practical, repeatable, production-ready solutions that improve developer productivity, software quality, and development speed.

The role designs production-grade AI solutions and contributes to foundational AI platforms and governance capabilities, including AI Gateway and Agent365. It works across engineering, product, and technology teams to accelerate AI adoption, optimize AI workloads and token usage, and demonstrate measurable business value. The position is full-time, onsite five days per week at the designated work location in Dallas, Texas. Relocation is not offered, and applicants must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Requirements

• PhD in an approved field from an approved university and at least 4 years of relevant experience; or a master's degree in an approved field from an approved university and at least 6 years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an approved field from an approved university and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience working with the NVIDIA AI technology stack.
• Deep technical knowledge of large language model inference.
• Experience designing and implementing production-grade AI, machine learning, or agentic AI solutions.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and modern AI engineering practices.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable AI architectures.
• Experience optimizing AI solutions for performance, scalability, observability, and cost efficiency.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AI coding and agentic development tools such as Claude Code, Windsurf, Codex, or comparable technologies.
• Experience developing enterprise AI platforms, gateways, governance solutions, or reusable AI frameworks.
• Experience implementing AI solutions across large-scale software engineering organizations.
• Strong understanding of developer productivity, AI-assisted software development workflows, and software engineering lifecycle practices.
• Ability to influence technical direction and coach engineering teams without direct management responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize agentic AI solutions for software engineering and developer productivity initiatives.
• Apply hands-on expertise with the NVIDIA technology stack to design and optimize enterprise AI solutions.
• Design and optimize LLM inference architectures for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Build and enhance AI-powered automation capabilities that help engineering teams develop and deliver software more efficiently.
• Support the development and evolution of Agent365, AI Gateway, and related enterprise AI governance capabilities.
• Develop solutions that improve AI platform performance, scalability, monitoring, governance, and cost efficiency.
• Translate complex or ambiguous business requirements into scalable, production-grade AI and machine learning architectures.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and determine appropriate architectures, methodologies, and implementation approaches.
• Partner with software engineering, product, and technology teams to accelerate adoption of AI-assisted software development practices.
• Advise and coach engineering teams on improving productivity through AI-enabled development workflows.
• Guide engineering organizations in implementing AI-first development methodologies, tools, patterns, and best practices.
• Drive initiatives to reduce token consumption, optimize AI workloads, and maximize return on investment.
• Create reusable frameworks, architectural patterns, documentation, and training materials to scale successful AI adoption across the enterprise.
• Evaluate emerging AI development tools and recommend solutions aligned with enterprise technology objectives.
• Establish metrics and communicate the impact of AI-enabled development initiatives through measurable productivity and business outcomes.
