AI Operations Engineer Intern
About The Position
Apprenticely is partnering with Overroute to hire a rotational AI Operations Engineer Intern for their team in Lowell, Arkansas. This is a three-month program designed to provide hands-on experience in IT positions under the guidance of a professional mentor and IT support team. The internship serves as an entry point into an IT career and may lead to full-time employment based on employer needs. Overroute is an AI-native freight operations platform developed in partnership with J.B. Hunt. Their AI agents are currently active in monitoring orders, scheduling deliveries, coordinating drivers, and resolving exceptions within a large-scale logistics network. Interns will work onsite at J.B. Hunt, collaborating directly with the Overroute team and observing the operators who use the platform.

Responsibilities
- Onboard, train, and enable 5 J.B. Hunt business units.
- Triage incoming user feedback and track AI adoption unit-by-unit.
- Perform quality assurance checks on agent output before it reaches live operators.
- Analyze user behavior and document real-world freight operations workflows.
- Conduct user and competitive research.
- Scenario-test new agentic AI capabilities prior to live enterprise rollout.
- Partner with Forward Deployed Engineers on live production deployments.
- Pull, clean, and validate live data feeds.
- Execute integration and regression testing.
- Build internal tooling to eliminate manual overhead.
