AI Operations Engineer

DNSFilter
$130,000 - $145,000Remote

About The Position

DNSFilter is seeking an AI Operations Engineer to join their team and build internal AI tools and agents. This role will focus on transforming ideas into functional, monitored tools such as Claude plugins, skills, MCP connectors, and agents. These tools are intended to reduce SaaS spend and automate tasks across various departments within the approximately 150-person company. The position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates who can align with U.S. Eastern business hours. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced, hyper-growth SaaS startup or scale-up environment.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with LLM tooling: Claude, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), agents, and prompt/context engineering.
  • 3+ years building software with Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, LLMs) to ship faster.
  • Experience integrating third-party REST APIs and building reusable, well-documented components or services.
  • A strong security-first mindset when handling sensitive business data through governed connectors and integrations.
  • Experience and ability to work autonomously, shape ambiguous requests into specs, and know when to escalate.
  • Experience integrating common business SaaS tools via their APIs.
  • Remote work capability with overlap to 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Timezone.

Nice To Haves

  • SQL and data modeling experience.
  • Prior internal-tools, platform, or automation engineering.
  • Experience with the Anthropic API, agent frameworks, or building MCP servers.
  • DNS protocol or cybersecurity domain knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship Claude plugins, skills, and MCP connectors (Python and TypeScript) that replace paid SaaS tools and automate work across the company.
  • Build and operate agents on our internal multi-agent platform: triggers, managed-agent configs, and governed MCP integrations.
  • Maintain and monitor the deployed fleet (MCP gateway connectors, plugin marketplace) and fix breakages quickly.
  • Turn groomed specifications into working, monitored tools, and help groom the intake queue of requests from across the company.
  • Partner directly with departments (Finance, HR, Sales, Support, Engineering) on time-boxed, embedded builds.
  • Contribute light data work as needed: SQL queries and reporting.
  • Use AI to accelerate your own learning and productivity, and be an advocate for AI across DNSFilter.

Benefits

  • Pathway to promotion to additional organizational positions and responsibilities based upon results and performance.
  • Passionate and intelligent colleagues who work hard and have a good time doing it.
  • Paid company-wide week off at the end of each year.
  • Flexible Vacation Policy.
  • Awesome company swag.
  • Full medical, dental, and vision benefits for US, UK, and Canada-based employees.
  • Full short-term disability and life benefits; available long-term disability.
  • Retirement savings account options with vested company matching for qualifying employees.
  • In-person annual gatherings.
