AI Machine Learning Technical Project Manager

SAIC•Chantilly, VA
•Hybrid

About The Position

SAIC is seeking an experienced, mission-focused Technical Program Manager to coordinate delivery of AI/ML and secure cloud concepts and solutions across multiple Intelligence Community programs. This hybrid role is open to candidates in Chantilly, Virginia, or Reston, Virginia. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with an active TS clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance. The role has two primary areas of focus: coordinating program requests, timelines, and deliverables across supported teams; and leading coordination of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes to help transition AI/ML prototypes into operational high-side environments. The manager serves as a primary liaison to program teams, organizes and prioritizes a shared task backlog, and coordinates schedules and milestones. The position also works with security stakeholders on RMF/ICD 503 accreditation documentation, including System Security Plans, and interfaces with Government Security Officers such as ISSOs and ISSMs. It coordinates with corporate IT, facilities, and security teams to establish and maintain secure workspaces, labs, and closed areas. In support of technical execution, the role assists developers with testing, refining, and documenting experimental code and models, and collaborates with an AI/ML developer to research and design proof-of-concept demonstrations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline and 14 years of experience, or a master’s degree and 12 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Active TS clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • At least 3 years of experience coordinating tasks, managing backlogs, or acting as a liaison between teams in a technical setting such as IT, software, or engineering.
  • Basic understanding or working familiarity with secure systems, security plans, or government accreditation processes such as RMF/ATO.
  • Practical experience writing basic Python code and supporting the architecture or whiteboarding of solutions to complex problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience deploying systems in secure, multi-tenant cloud environments such as AWS C2S/SC2S or Azure Government, or in air-gapped networks.
  • Familiarity with Intelligence Community missions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary programmatic point of contact for supported program leads and build relationships to understand deliverables, timelines, and technical expectations.
  • Collect, organize, and prioritize task requests from multiple programs into a shared team backlog.
  • Coordinate schedules and milestones to prevent conflicts and support realistic execution.
  • Coordinate RMF/ICD 503 and ATO processes and compile accreditation documentation, including System Security Plans.
  • Interface with Government Security Officers, including ISSOs and ISSMs, and help translate technical features into compliance solutions.
  • Coordinate with corporate IT, facilities, and security groups to establish, upgrade, and maintain secure workspaces, labs, and closed areas.
  • Assist developers in testing, refining, and documenting experimental code and models.
  • Collaborate with the core AI/ML developer to research, architect, and design rapid, high-fidelity proof-of-concept demonstrations.
  • Coordinate deliverables for execution and business growth across supported programs.
