About The Position

NewsBreak, a leading Content Intelligence platform, is seeking interns for its Nearby AI initiative. Nearby AI is building a trust-first marketplace for local home services, aiming to provide homeowners with clarity on problems, costs, and provider suitability, while helping service providers win work based on fit and outcomes. This role involves working directly with the founding team on the marketing and operational groundwork of a new marketplace. Interns will be measured on their accomplishments and will gain experience in both marketing and operations tracks, regardless of their primary focus.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a rigorous undergraduate or graduate program, with a strong academic record.
  • At least one initiative you started yourself, such as a club, business, research project, campaign, or publication, with results you can show.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with outbound work: calling strangers, running structured interviews, or pitching an idea.
  • Working proficiency with spreadsheets.
  • Working proficiency with AI tools as a daily working method.

Nice To Haves

  • Ran a campaign, newsletter, social account, or content project with an audience and measurable results (Marketing track).
  • Coursework or experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or SEO (Marketing track).
  • Prior work in construction, real estate, or home services, including family businesses (Operations track).
  • Coursework or experience in economics, statistics, or research methods (Operations track).
  • Prior internship or work at an early-stage company (Either track).

Responsibilities

  • Draft and test ad creative, landing-page copy, and content variants.
  • Source, structure, and quality-check content for local pages and guides.
  • Track content discovery by search engines and AI assistants and provide weekly readouts.
  • Map local organizations, publications, and community groups for brand launch outreach.
  • Identify, contact, and qualify service professionals in launch markets.
  • Verify service professional credentials against public records.
  • Recruit and interview homeowners about their hiring decisions and challenges.
  • Document the customer experience of incumbent services firsthand.
  • Gather and document real-world pricing by category and region.
