About The Position

Dodge & Cox is seeking an AI Governance Program Manager to organize, coordinate, and advance the firm's cross-functional AI governance efforts. This role is part of the AI Governance pillar, one of four pillars in the firm's AI operating model. The pillar includes cross-functional members from InfoSec, Legal, Risk, and Compliance, focused on protecting the firm and its clients through proactive management of AI policy and procedures, regulatory alignment, and risk management. Reporting to the AI Governance Pillar lead, this individual will drive progress across the pillar's workstreams by coordinating contributors from Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Information Security, tracking deliverables and deadlines, and facilitating processes for timely, well-informed, and well-documented AI use decisions. This is a new role designed to help the firm deepen AI adoption with confidence and shape the evolving AI operating model.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in program or project management, with experience supporting governance- or risk-oriented initiatives
  • Experience designing, implementing, or maturing governance processes, operating models, or control frameworks.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders across legal, compliance, risk, and/or information security functions
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, identify recurring patterns, and translate complex issues into governance solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, including the ability to distill large amounts of information and frame communications for varied audience needs
  • High emotional intelligence with demonstrated ability to build trust, influence without authority, facilitate consensus, and drive commitment to outcomes
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to oversee multiple projects, tasks, and interdependencies effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively manage timelines and resources and mitigates risks

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulated compliance-intensive environment, preferably asset management or financial services
  • Technical familiarity with AI concepts and tools and working knowledge of information security principles, data governance, and common control frameworks sufficient to facilitate informed governance discussions and evaluate whether deliverables meet governance requirements.
  • Exposure to AI governance, technology policy, or technology risk management
  • Program or project management credentials (e.g., PMP, PgMP)
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to AI

Responsibilities

  • Manage governance workstreams end-to-end: track deliverables, deadlines, dependencies, and risks across the pillar’s policy and risk management initiatives
  • Coordinate governance reviews across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Information Security, and other stakeholders, ensuring outcomes are documented and issues are escalated through appropriate channels
  • Facilitate the pillar’s decision-making process by preparing clear materials, ensuring the right stakeholders provide input, and driving discussions to resolution
  • Manage the policy-to-deployment review process for new AI tools, integrations, and capabilities in coordination with the Infrastructure pillar
  • Facilitate updates to policies, standards, procedures, and governance frameworks by identifying recurring governance issues and cross-functional decision patterns
  • Prepare governance updates and materials for the AI Steering Group
  • Maintain project documentation, status reporting, and a clear record of decisions
