About The Position

At OPENLANE, we are seeking AI-first Software Engineers specializing in iOS development to contribute to the evolution and scaling of our digital marketplace mobile experiences. These roles are designed for engineers who already integrate AI as a primary development tool. You will leverage AI to enhance development speed, improve software quality, and reduce operational and development overhead, while maintaining strong engineering judgment, ownership, and systems thinking. Your work will involve customer-facing wholesale marketplace applications, requiring close collaboration with Product teams, Senior iOS engineers, Android, and backend teams. AI serves as an accelerator, and engineering ownership remains paramount.

Requirements

3+ years professional iOS development (or equivalent depth).
Proficiency in Swift.
Experience building apps with SwiftUI.
Experience shipping at least one App Store app.
AI-first mindset and active use of AI development tools with critical evaluation of outputs.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Core Engineering Skills: Experience shipping production iOS features in a team codebase.
Solid Swift and SwiftUI skills; willingness to navigate UIKit where it still exists.
Comfort with CI, tests, and code review.
AI-First Mindset: Actively uses AI development tools (code copilots, AI debuggers, test generators).
Curious about applying AI to real customer and business problems.
Able to critically evaluate AI outputs instead of blindly accepting them.
Comfortable learning and adapting in a fast-changing tool landscape.
Technical Experience: Swift; SwiftUI views and ViewModels.
Basic networking and app architecture (MVVM or similar).
Familiarity with feature flags and mobile analytics.
Unit and/or UI testing.
Willingness to grow snapshot testing.

Nice To Haves

Snapshot testing experience.
Exposure to SPM modules and shared UI component libraries.
Marketplace / e-commerce mobile experience.
Interest in growing into auth, flags, and analytics ownership over time.
Familiarity with hybrid WebView surfaces.

Responsibilities

Implement iOS features primarily in modern SwiftUI across seller and buyer marketplace experiences.
Ship flag-gated work, write unit/UI tests, and meet dual-OS PR gate expectations with support.
Use AI tools daily to accelerate coding, tests, and debugging, verifying outputs before merging.
Collaborate with Product and design teams.
Learn shared platform concerns under Senior guidance.
Pair with Android counterparts on shared product behavior.
Grow end-to-end ownership of features with guidance from Senior engineers.
