ASML•San Diego, CA
•$129,188 - $189,475

About The Position

ASML develops advanced lithography systems for semiconductor manufacturing. As an AI Engineer in materials discovery, you will develop and apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computational materials science methods to accelerate the discovery and optimization of materials for current and future ASML products. The work spans AI, atomistic simulation, materials science, and experimental validation, in collaboration with computational scientists, experimental researchers, and product engineering teams. You will develop high-throughput computational screening workflows and Python-based tools for generating, processing, modeling, analyzing, and visualizing materials data. You will combine AI-enabled approaches with established methods such as density functional theory, molecular simulation, and materials informatics; evaluate predictions and identify promising candidates for experimental investigation; and collaborate with experimental researchers on validation strategies and interpretation of synthesis and characterization results. You will also establish computation–machine learning–experiment feedback loops, assess emerging technologies, translate promising materials concepts into engineering solutions, and document and communicate technical work to diverse stakeholders.
