About The Position

The AI Engineer is a hands-on individual contributor who works directly with client teams to design, build, and ship production AI solutions on Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Azure AI Foundry (now Microsoft Foundry). The engineer writes code, configures agents, connects data, and delivers solutions to users, working within a Collectiv delivery team alongside a project lead, architects, and data engineers. The role partners with client business and IT stakeholders to turn business problems into working AI solutions and prepare them for production. The position covers Copilot and Azure AI Foundry development, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and data foundations, evaluation and production readiness, and client consulting and collaboration. It requires U.S. citizenship under the specific client contract and physical location in the United States for the duration of the engagement. These conditions apply to this project, not to Collectiv generally; applicants who do not meet them may still apply for other AI Engineer opportunities. Collectiv describes itself as a boutique consulting and strategy firm specializing in Analytics, Planning, and AI with Power BI and the Microsoft data stack. The role is fully remote, with quarterly in-person team experiences. Collectiv offers a clear growth trajectory, professional development opportunities, and a benefits package.
