AI Enablement Practice Owner

Bitovi•,
•$150,000 - $180,000•Remote

About The Position

Bitovi is seeking a thought leader to build and grow its AI Enablement practice, attract customers through marketing and partnerships, and close sales. The practice currently offers three tiers: training teams to use AI, adding AI skills that streamline parts of their workflow, and measuring results against DORA metrics. The offering spans the software delivery life cycle, including design, product, development, QA, and testing. The immediate priority is selling the current offering, while the longer-term priority is keeping the practice relevant as AI evolves. Sales experience is not required; Bitovi will provide support and training. The Practice Owner will identify customer problems that AI can address, develop and test technically achievable offerings, and refine or retire services as the market changes. They will own the practice’s customer acquisition strategy, including its sales and marketing pipeline, partnerships, positioning, campaigns, and events. They will partner with Sales and take ownership of the sales cycle for practice opportunities, leading client conversations and coordinating deal strategy and proposals. The role works closely with Directors of Engineering, the practice lead, Delivery Managers, Sales, and the Engineering Marketing Lead to ensure offerings can be delivered at quality, improve services using delivery feedback, and track growth and market traction. Helping consultants ramp up on a newly sold offering may be needed, but is secondary. Ongoing content production, routine conference speaking, and primary responsibility for upskilling Bitovi’s engineers are not part of this role. Bitovi is a fully remote company with about 80 team members in the US, Canada, and other international locations. The role involves travel to meet clients and internal teams, ranging from one or two trips per year to three to five days every three to four months. More travel may be required at times to lead or support in-person training, with efforts made to accommodate the employee’s schedule.

Requirements

  • Track record of identifying emerging technology early and building a capability, practice, or product around it.
  • Experience leading a team to develop new techniques into adoptable, documented, marketable best practices, including packaging, pricing, and positioning.
  • Hands-on experience applying AI to software delivery and distinguishing effective current uses from hype.
  • Deep familiarity with the software delivery life cycle, including design, product, development, QA, and testing, and how AI affects each stage.
  • Experience building a plan-driven growth pipeline backward from revenue goals through marketing, partnerships, or referrals.
  • Ability to work closely with engineering leaders to ensure sold offerings can be delivered at quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Relationships or experience with technology partners, such as AI vendors, platforms, or alliances, that have generated real opportunities.
  • A credible public point of view on AI demonstrated through talks, writing, or community involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Track AI tools, techniques, and adoption trends to identify problems organizations will pay to solve.
  • Turn market trends into concrete offerings, playbooks, and a point of view that distinguishes Bitovi.
  • Develop hypotheses for new solutions and test them with internal teams and client work before selling them.
  • Ensure offerings are technically achievable and identify skills gaps for hiring or training.
  • Refine, expand, or retire offerings as the market changes.
  • Design the practice’s sales and marketing pipeline and customer acquisition strategy.
  • Define marketing and partnership strategies, including which partnerships to pursue and how to use them to generate opportunities.
  • Guide marketing campaigns, content, and events, including which stories, projects, and messages to highlight.
  • Choose relevant conferences and communities and determine what Bitovi should present there.
  • Provide Sales with accurate messaging, positioning, and materials about what the practice can deliver.
  • Partner with Sales and eventually own the full sales cycle for practice opportunities, from first conversation to signed engagement.
  • Lead client conversations to shape solutions, confirm fit, and demonstrate credible expertise about current AI capabilities.
  • Set deal strategy with Sales for larger or more complex engagements.
  • Work with the practice lead on proposals to ensure they describe deliverable offerings.
  • Work with Directors of Engineering to confirm new offerings can be delivered at quality and flag skill gaps early.
  • Partner with the practice lead, who documents services and handles proposal iteration.
  • Work with Delivery Managers to refine offerings based on delivery feedback and client outcomes.
  • Track practice growth and market traction and balance near-term revenue with longer-term investments.
  • When needed, help ramp up consultants on newly sold offerings.
  • Share content ideas and strategies with the Engineering Marketing Lead.
