AI Enablement Engineer

LocalStack
Remote

About The Position

LocalStack is a fast-growing Series A startup building cutting-edge technology to revolutionize cloud development processes and support highly efficient dev&test feedback loops. We are seeking an AI Enablement Engineer to embed across Engineering, GTM, People, Support, Finance, and Ops to identify where AI can remove the most operational friction and capture opportunities for reliable automation of manual workflows. The role involves building internal tools and agents end-to-end, connecting the current tech stack to daily employee workflows, and driving real adoption through workshops, pairing, and office hours. Success will be measured by active usage and time saved. The engineer will also partner with Security to establish guardrails, access scoping, and audit trails, and develop a framework to track the value of AI solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of total experience as a software engineer + MBB or Big4 consulting/product management or business operations in a B2B SaaS startup/ scale up (big plus)
  • Strong experience working with cross functional stakeholders and driving value for them (documented adoption win, i.e. they took a team from zero to a workflow rebuilt around AI and can show the before/after)
  • Strong experience using Codex, Claude Code or similar to ship working solutions (this may be in personal projects)
  • Broad understanding of AI technology (LLM vs ML) and relevant patterns, approaches, etc
  • Experience in Python/TypeScript, MCP / agent-tooling patterns, evals & reliability and cost/token awareness.
  • Familiarity with Git version control and use of GitHub, GitLab or similar tools
  • Strong process design instincts; able to map a workflow, identify failure points, and build something that scales
  • Good strategic/commercial awareness; you know what matters to a business and you can clearly articulate the connection/value of specific deliverables to those business goals and metrics

Responsibilities

  • Embed across Engineering, GTM, People, Support, Finance, and Ops to identify where AI can remove the most operational friction, capturing opportunities for reliable automation of manual workflow
  • Build internal tools and agents end-to-end, connecting current tech stack to daily employee workflows.
  • Drive real adoption through workshops, pairing, and office hours—measuring success by active usage and time saved rather than features shipped.
  • Partner with Security to establish guardrails, access scoping, and audit trails that protect employee and customer data.
  • Develop and use a framework to track the value of AI solutions (key metrics, targets, actuals, etc)

Benefits

  • Fully remote
  • Competitive salary
  • Annual company retreat
  • 2 extra company-wide holidays
  • Friendly and inclusive workplace culture (community guilds and online company events)
