AI Automation & Solutions Architect

Broadview Federal Credit UnionAlbany, NY

About The Position

Broadview is launching its first dedicated AI function. The mandate is to find places where people spend hours of work that a machine should be doing, and automate it quickly, visibly, with accountability, and in partnership with the teams who own the work. This role serves as the bridge between business needs and what AI can credibly deliver today. It is a hands-on role focused on delivering measurable improvements within the first quarter. The function adds net-new capability and does not replace existing roles. The Architect's instinct is to configure and prove value before code is written, aiming to transform long processes into much shorter ones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Data Science, Math, Electrical Engineering, or Machine Learning (Artificial Intelligence).
  • 6+ years in solution architecture, business process automation, intelligent automation, or automation-focused consulting, with a portfolio of delivered automations and metrics.
  • Deep hands-on experience with an enterprise iPaaS or automation platform (Workato strongly preferred; MuleSoft, Boomi, Power Automate, or UiPath acceptable if transferable).
  • Intelligent document processing experience at real volume (classification, extraction, validation, confidence thresholds, exception handling).
  • Practical LLM fluency (design/iterate prompts, structure outputs, chain steps, understand limitations).
  • Sufficient technical depth for credibility with engineers (REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, authentication patterns, SQL, Python or JavaScript scripting).
  • Genuine consultative skill, with experience in operations meetings and build tools.
  • Experience earning trust from stakeholders concerned about automation's impact on their roles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Databricks, Anthropic, and AWS.
  • Financial services experience, particularly mortgage, consumer lending, deposit operations, or payments.
  • Experience navigating model risk management, third-party risk, or regulatory examination within a regulated institution.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable formal process improvement training.
  • Experience automating on top of a core banking or loan origination platform.
  • Workato certification, or equivalent platform credential.

Responsibilities

  • Process discovery with numbers, embedding within business units (mortgage, consumer lending, deposit operations, contact center, back office, finance, branches, etc.) to build a ranked inventory of automation opportunities with baseline metrics.
  • Design and deliver Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions for high-volume document workflows.
  • Make the build-versus-configure call for each opportunity, deciding whether to use existing platforms, Workato, LLMs, or hand off to an AI Full-Stack Engineer for an in-house build, documenting the reasoning and expected return.
  • Hands-on automation delivery, building and orchestrating multi-system workflows, exception paths, human approval steps, and API routing in Workato.
  • Implement measurement discipline, tracking before-and-after cycle times, volume processed, exception/error rates, and hours returned to staff for every automation.
  • Ensure ROIs are tightly coupled to promoted workflows and track adoption and change management.
  • Train staff whose work changes, write runbooks, and support solutions through adoption.
  • Navigate controls in partnership with Enterprise Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit, bringing automations through model risk, third-party risk, fair lending, and BSA/AML reviews efficiently.
  • Partner with existing data and analytics teams and business unit staff.
