About The Position

The IT Solutions Architect – AI & Automation is the primary technical authority for the application portfolio supporting food manufacturing operations, including enterprise integrations, custom software, automation, and AI-enabled systems. The role evaluates business processes and technologies, prioritizes opportunities by value, feasibility, and risk, and establishes development standards across the software development lifecycle. It hands-on designs, builds, deploys, and supports solutions using AI tools, APIs, custom code, and automation platforms such as UiPath, including integrations with Sage X3 ERP and other business applications.

The Architect owns initiatives from requirements through design, development, testing, deployment, training, and ongoing production support. The role ensures that solutions follow industry best practices and company IT security practices, remain reliable and maintainable, and support applicable food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. AI-enabled workflows must include appropriate data protections, accuracy checks, and human oversight. The Architect collaborates across Finance, Operations, HR, Sales, Maintenance, and IT, measures outcomes such as time saved and error reduction, and establishes technical standards and foundations for a growing team of specialists.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of hands-on software development and systems integration experience, including automation (RPA/UiPath) and AI-driven workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience is considered.
• Deep proficiency in C#, .NET (including .NET Core and modern .NET), and SQL.
• Experience delivering production applications across web, desktop, console, and service form factors.
• Experience with modern web frameworks such as Blazor or comparable platforms.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and managing application infrastructure and deployments.
• Experience integrating with ERP systems.
• Practical experience building RPA automations with UiPath or a comparable platform.
• Practical experience applying AI tools or services in business workflows, such as document extraction, classification, or summarization.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and data integration patterns.
• Experience with relational databases, data warehousing, and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with version control, CI/CD tooling, and IDEs such as Visual Studio or JetBrains Rider.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and facilitate requirements workshops and design reviews.
• Ability to collaborate across departments, take ownership of deliverables, communicate status proactively, and resolve production issues.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Sage X3 or similar ERP platforms.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain architecture for custom applications, integrations, automation workflows, and AI-enabled systems.
• Work with business teams to identify manual processes, define requirements, and prioritize opportunities by value, feasibility, and risk.
• Evaluate AI services, RPA platforms, APIs, cloud services, and other approaches, recommending solutions that balance capability, cost, and maintainability.
• Design, build, test, and deploy automations and integrations using APIs, custom code, AI tools, and RPA platforms such as UiPath.
• Develop and maintain integrations between Sage X3, business applications, databases, and external services using C#/.NET and REST or SOAP APIs.
• Establish development standards, coding practices, and documentation requirements for IT solutions.
• Ensure solution designs align with business goals, security requirements, and operational sustainability.
• Support CI/CD processes for deployed applications, including deployments, versioning, and environment configurations.
• Design, build, and maintain web, desktop, and console applications and shared class libraries using current .NET versions, including Blazor applications.
• Build and support attended and unattended UiPath automations, including Orchestrator scheduling, queues, and monitoring.
• Monitor production systems; investigate failures, exceptions, and data discrepancies; restore service and address recurring issues.
• Maintain logging, exception handling, support documentation, runbooks, and change records.
• Build and maintain data connections and reports, including Power BI dashboards, to support decisions and measure project results.
• Improve data quality, system connectivity, and effective use of Sage X3 and other platforms with business and IT teams.
• Identify and evaluate AI use cases such as document processing, classification, summarization, and decision support.
• Develop and test AI-enabled workflows with data protections, accuracy checks, and human review before production use.
• Track and report automation and AI outcomes, including time saved, error reduction, and reliability.
• Support operations teams in identifying technology opportunities related to food safety, quality, labor efficiency, and product yield.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, HR, IT, Sales, and Maintenance to understand needs, estimate ROI, prioritize work, and deliver solutions.
• Communicate priorities, timelines, and progress to stakeholders throughout initiatives.
• Train end-users and provide ongoing support to encourage effective adoption.
• Review assigned Help Desk tickets, investigate and resolve requests, and provide timely updates.
• Follow company requirements for access control, data security, testing, and change management.
• Provide technical direction for solutions spanning the organization and potentially grow and mentor a team of specialists.
