About The Position

Pattern is hiring a full-time AI Engineer summer intern for Summer 2027 at its headquarters in Lehi, Utah. The approximately 12-week internship focuses on tackling problems for users and in international ecommerce by finding technology-based solutions. The intern will work on the AI team and collaborate with senior engineers and other technology teams on machine-learning and AI initiatives. The position follows a hybrid schedule. Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply. A high-performing intern may be considered for a full-time role after the internship or an extension to work part-time while returning to school.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Foundational knowledge of machine-learning concepts and algorithms.
• Proficiency in a programming language commonly used in AI, such as Python or Java.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with at least one machine-learning framework, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with data or analytics side projects, as relevant to demonstrating qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data preprocessing, cleaning, and analysis to prepare datasets for model training.
• Support development and optimization of machine-learning models, including hyperparameter tuning and performance evaluation.
• Help deploy AI solutions and integrate models into production systems in collaboration with senior engineers.
• Document AI experiments, code, and project workflows to support clear, reproducible processes.
• Research emerging AI technologies and methodologies to contribute to the team's innovation efforts.
• Participate in group collaborations, take ownership of assigned projects, and complete assignments in a timely manner.
