About The Position

Intel is seeking a highly motivated engineer to join its AI Algorithm Engineering team and contribute to AI algorithm research and development projects with real-world applications. The role focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing AI algorithms and integrating them into solutions and frameworks for applications such as computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning. The engineer will research and develop techniques for defect detection and classification within an image analysis AI framework, refine algorithms for use in production facilities, and implement and tune models for performance and accuracy in specific use cases. The role may also involve developing AI software solutions in partnership with internal product teams. The position offers mentorship, exposure to AI technologies and applications, a collaborative environment, professional growth, and networking within Intel's global AI community.

Requirements

Must have completed a PhD in engineering or a computer science program with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence, or a master's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field plus 4 or more years of experience.
Specialization in an AI topic such as federated learning, image classification, multiscale attention for object detection, computer vision, image processing, or feature engineering.
Coursework, skills, or experience in data engineering and preparation, including data engineering, feature engineering, data imbalance, and noisy dataset management.
Python and C++.
PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills.
Self-motivation and ability to work effectively in team environments.

Nice To Haves

Experience deploying AI applications in production environments that require high precision and accuracy.
Experience in the semiconductor industry or similar technology sectors.
Experience with Git, cloud platforms and concepts, containers, Docker, and MLOps.
Experience with Vision Language Models (VLM).

Responsibilities

Contribute to research, development, and optimization of AI algorithms and stakeholder solutions.
Assist with implementation, tuning, and performance optimization of models for computer vision and machine learning applications.
Research and develop techniques for defect detection and classification in an image analysis AI framework.
Refine algorithms for production facilities and implement and tune models for performance and accuracy in specific use cases.
