About The Position

This 12-16 week internship program, called PLOT (Professional Leaders of Tomorrow), offers college students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in agriculture operations. Interns will focus on a key project, develop new skills, apply learned knowledge, and present their findings to leadership. The program also includes opportunities to connect with interns in other business areas and attend learning sessions. Successful completion can earn a scholarship of $1,000 to $3,000. This internship is designed to make a real impact, build industry knowledge, and sharpen abilities in a dynamic, results-driven environment.

Requirements

  • College student majoring in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Science, Ag Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with agricultural operations is preferred.
  • Comply with company safety standards including a clean driving record.
  • Willingness and desire to work overtime hours and occasional Saturdays.
  • Ability to safely operate company machinery within state laws and company policies and guidelines.
  • Ability to repetitively bend, kneel, and walk long distances while working in a non-climate-controlled environment and outside in inclement weather.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day branch and field operations, including storage, handling, and distribution of fertilizer, crop protection products, seed, and other ag inputs.
  • Gain hands-on exposure to agricultural supply chain operations, working alongside warehouse, operations, and field teams during the growing season.
  • Assist with inventory tracking and operational reporting, helping ensure accurate product availability and timely support for grower customers.
  • Follow Wilbur-Ellis safety standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support a safe, efficient, and successful season.
  • Conform to the normal working hours of the Wilbur-Ellis location.
  • Present a final project overview of your Internship to senior leadership.
