You will be part of the Advanced Trialing Team within PepsiCo’s North America R&D Ag Science Variety Trialing organization. This role plays a critical role in supporting Variety Agronomy Scientists by executing field and storage trials that advance PepsiCo’s chipping potato portfolio. This role is focused on hands-on trial execution, data collection, and operational support, working closely with scientists, breeders, and cross-functional partners to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of trial results.

Requirements

  • BS preferred in Agronomy, Crop Science, Horticulture, Biology, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Experience in field trials, agriculture operations, or applied research environments preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data collection/record keeping
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments and support multiple projects simultaneously
  • Basic understanding of field operations, sample handling, and agricultural systems
  • Proficiency with standard tools (Excel, data systems, inventory tracking tools)
  • Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work closely with scientists and site teams
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to support changing priorities during peak seasons

Responsibilities

  • Execute field and storage trials under the direction of Variety Agronomy Scientists, including seed preparation, planting support, in-season management, and harvest activities
  • Perform seed handling activities such as seed cutting, treating, labeling, inventory tracking, and shipment preparation
  • Support phenotyping and data collection in the field and at harvest, including grading, processing assessments (e.g., fry quality), and sample preparation
  • Utilize data capture systems and barcoding tools to accurately track plant, tuber, and trial samples
  • Assist in trial setup and logistics, including material movement, site preparation, and coordination across field, storage, and lab environments
  • Monitor trials and report issues or deviations, supporting troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts
  • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work environments across fields, storage, greenhouses, and phenotyping facilities
  • Support cross-functional activities across site operations as needed to enable trial execution timelines
  • Contribute to improving efficiency in trialing workflows, processes, and data quality
  • Follow all HSE and compliance requirements and support a strong safety culture
