About The Position
Deer River High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to fill a long-term substitute position in Agricultural Science. This temporary role maintains continuity of education for high school students during the regular teacher’s absence. The position is available ASAP. The teacher will deliver lessons aligned with the established curriculum, create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, maintain student records, and follow school policies and procedures related to safety and discipline.
Requirements
- A valid teaching license or certification in Science for the high school level, or a short-call substitute license.
- Strong knowledge of the high school science curriculum and best practices in education.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to build rapport with students and foster a supportive classroom environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
Nice To Haves
- A bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective science lessons in accordance with the established curriculum.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant data.
- Uphold school policies and procedures, including those related to safety and discipline.
