About The Position

UNC Department of Family Medicine is establishing the North Carolina Rural Residency Training Collaborative for Agricultural Health, a statewide academic learning collaborative designed to strengthen rural health workforce preparation and retention. The collaborative brings together medical, dental, behavioral health, public health, and allied health training programs with agricultural health-focused community organizations, including the NC DHHS Office of Rural Health Farmworker Health Program and the North Carolina Agromedicine Institute. Family medicine serves as the organizing discipline for this rural, community-centered initiative. This is a one-time, nonrenewable two-year Innovation Grant pilot focused on development-phase outcomes, including: documenting existing rural and agricultural health training across North Carolina; identifying training gaps and redundancies; and producing consensus-based competencies, curricula, and faculty resources for family physicians and interprofessional trainees. The project is designed to create sustainable infrastructure within existing training systems rather than ongoing programming. Accordingly, no continued funding is anticipated beyond the two-year grant period. The Program Manager will oversee day-to-day operations of the collaborative, working closely with Dr. Moore and a statewide steering committee. In Year 1, the position will focus on launching the collaborative, developing governance structures, engaging partners, and establishing communication and evaluation processes. In Year 2, the Program Manager will lead curriculum inventory, statewide assessment and gap analysis, competency development, consensus-building activities, and dissemination efforts.
