About The Position

Maizex Seeds, part of Sollio Agriculture, is a highly innovative Canadian-owned seed company focused on the needs of farmers across Canada. At Maizex Seeds our focus is on providing industry leading genetics, agronomy, and product support to help our customers maximize their potential on their farms. Reporting to the Regional Manager for Western Canada, this Manitoba based position with Maizex Seeds is focused on product positioning and supporting sales development across the Prairie provinces.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support through agronomy and/or product presentations at Maizex dealer and grower events as well as industry events through the year for corn, soybeans and canola, taking leadership role in developing product and agronomy presentations.
  • Including summer tour meetings, winter grower meetings, trade shows, dealer staff or customer meetings, etc.
  • Sales support goal to focus on key growth products as determined by regional forecasts, sales history and corporate priorities
  • Provide support to specific dealers through product training and positioning in regions of focus as determined through joint objective setting with territory managers
  • Provide leadership and guidance in developing and implementing commercial hybrid and variety plot strategies for corn, canola and soybean plots across the Prairies and provide support as needed in plot implementation (planting, harvest, or evaluation) for sales plots planned by territory managers in the region
  • Provide input on the design and prioritization of Maizex agronomy projects working with the Maizex product management team, territory managers and summer interns in the implementation of agreed upon agronomy projects
  • Provide support as needed on pre-commercial small plot trial program in Manitoba region
  • Provide product specific input to the corn and oilseed product managers based on field activities and plot evaluations of corn and canola hybrids and soybean varieties
  • Work with territory managers to develop a list of key prospect or influencer growers with the goal of using a structured call and follow-up approach to positioning Maizex products on their farms working in conjunction with the local Maizex dealer.
