About The Position
Suncorp Valuations is seeking analytically minded individuals with experience in the appraisal industry and/or experience in buildings or construction to join their dynamic team in a Consultant role based in Western Canada. This role offers the opportunity to travel, conduct site inspections, perform research and analysis, and prepare appraisal reports. Requirements
- Full proficiency in written and oral English.
- Completion of post-secondary education.
- Strong digital literacy, including efficient file management, data accuracy, and attention to detail when working with technology.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Willing to travel regionally and nationally.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must reside in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba, and be within close proximity to a major airport.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the appraisal industry.
- Experience in buildings or construction.
- Proficiency in additional languages.
- Solid construction knowledge.
- Experience with Field inspections of buildings and improvements for costing purposes.
- Experience with land and facilities inspections related to risk assessment purposes.
- Understanding of building codes, fire codes and bylaws.
- Knowledge of building design.
- Ability to read blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Travel to various locations to gather detailed information, measurements, and photographs on buildings, equipment and furnishings.
- Conduct thorough research and expert analysis to develop solid, defensible value estimates.
- Prepare Appraisal Reports (value estimates) and Insurance Appraisals (cost estimates).
- Alternate between fieldwork (on-site inspections) and office tasks (research, analysis, costing, and report preparation).
- Gain exposure to multiple sectors, such as Mult-residential, commercial, municipal and educational properties.
- Collaborate with skilled team members to ensure high-quality, defensible reporting.
