The Bilingual Aging Care Manager 3 role with the Lehigh County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) offers a meaningful path to support older adults who need protection and guidance. Requirements

  • One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in Spanish.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Pass a Spanish speaking proficiency evaluation conducted by the Bureau of Talent Acquisition, PA Office of Administration.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing in Spanish during the probationary period to achieve regular status in the position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide protective services to consumers experiencing abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment
  • Investigate referrals and maintain required legal timelines according to protective services standards
  • Prepare case histories, letters, reports, and maintain detailed case records
  • Obtain medical, psychological, and financial information needed to determine service eligibility
  • Offer casework guidance to consumers and families to resolve specific issues
  • Collaborate with courts, law enforcement, hospitals, and other agencies to meet consumer needs
