Agile Release Train Engineer (Experienced and Senior)
About The Position
The Boeing Company is seeking a highly motivated Agile - Release Train Engineer (RTE) (Experienced and Senior) to join a large Air Dominance Division Mission Systems Software team using Agile in Berkeley, MO. This position will lead and/or support an agile organization in implementing new software capabilities within the platform as defined by a capability roadmap. The organization is responsible for the full lifecycle of software development, including requirements, design, implementation, and testing for mission systems. The agile leader will act as a servant leader and coach, overseeing and optimizing the flow of value on the program using tools like Jira and Confluence. Responsibilities include facilitating workshops, escalating impediments, managing risk, ensuring value delivery, and driving relentless improvement. This leader will also coach leaders and teams in new processes and mindsets, and help sustain and improve Agile execution on the program. The candidate must have a strong understanding of scaling Lean and Agile practices and the unique challenges of facilitating and aligning a large organization with multiple stakeholders. The team is hiring for both Experienced and Senior Engineers.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start)
- 2+ years of experience with Scaled Agile Framework or Agile Methodologies
- 2+ years of experience with Agile delivery and metrics
- 1+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

- Agile/SAFe training and/or certification, for example: SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), SAFe Release Train Engineer Certification (RTE), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Project Management Institute- Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

Responsibilities
- Coaches leaders and teams in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
- Drives relentless improvement and assesses the agility level of the organization and helps them improve
- Fosters preparation of Vision, Objectives and Program Backlogs
- Ensures backlogs are managed in accordance with defined standards
- Tracks the execution of features and capabilities
- Facilitates roadmap development
- Supports inter- and intra-team dependency mapping
- Prepares for and facilitates quarterly planning and execution of the plan
- Encourages cross-functional collaboration across the organization
- Works with Product Management, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
- Helps manage risks and dependencies
- Escalates and tracks impediments
- Ensures standards are established and followed
- Monitors and improves metrics to track and improve the flow of value
