Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of Agile approaches, including Kanban and Scrum, with hands-on experience applying Agile practices within delivery teams.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Agile techniques, such as user stories, backlog refinement, continuous integration, automated testing, and iterative delivery.
  • Previous experience in project work, either as a project manager, scrum master and/or key contributor, with a strong understanding of project management fundamentals and delivery best practice.
  • Atlassian (Jira and Confluence) administration experience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and manage project expectations to leaders, owners, sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders at the team and project level, in a clear and concise fashion in both written and verbal communications.
  • Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and selectively apply appropriate techniques to provide value to teams and organization.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams or competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-function, matrixed team environment.
  • Ability to learn, understand and apply new technologies and tools in support of effective delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5+ years of project, Agile, or delivery management experience.
  • Project Management certification (PMP).
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • Experienced in a Scrum Master role for 1-2+ years for a software development team.
  • Experience in the Commercial P&C Insurance industry or other regulated environments.
  • Strong presentation skills, including the ability to convey delivery status, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Strong visual communication and creative communication skills, including the use of dashboards, boards, or visual artifacts to support transparency and alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Run and facilitate daily, weekly and monthly agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) and organize workstream team(s) efficiently, ensuring adherence to Agile practices ad team commitments.
  • Assist with backlog maintenance, prioritization, and documentation, and develop and maintain teams' standards, tools and best practices in alignment with PMO and enterprise deliver frameworks.
  • Contribute to determining / maintaining strategic IT project roadmaps and programs by providing delivery input, sequencing recommendations, and capacity insights, in accordance with the mission and goals of the business.
  • Support clear, effective, and timely visual communication and creative communication activities that enable stakeholder understanding, transparency, and team alignment.
  • Support IT PMO Leader by managing assigned project financials, resource assignment and allocation, ongoing milestone/delivery tracking boards, communication and key performance metrics.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely status reports for leadership and governance bodies as needed.
  • Work with appropriate internal customers to develop IT project scope of work documents and project plans, including defined objectives, assumptions, dependencies, cost/benefit analysis, project charters, measurable outcomes, and related risk.
  • Assist with change management and knowledge building across the organization related to Agile and scrum, including supporting adoption, readiness, and continuous learning at the team level.
  • Promote continuous improvement across the organization, while continually growing and learning about new tools and techniques to manage the team(s).
  • Administration of Atlassian products (JIRA and Confluence) to ensure efficient, scalable, and well‑governed collaboration and workflow management across the organization.
  • Other duties as required.
