About The Position

Thomson Reuters is hiring an Agile Delivery Lead for Legal Service Management (LSM) to lead the daily delivery of small, high-impact AI and automation initiatives. The role works with experienced automation practitioners and engineers, including both dedicated team members and colleagues rotating in from service delivery teams. It focuses on creating clarity, maintaining focus, removing impediments, and delivering working solutions in small increments; it is not a traditional project management role. The lead guides experiments from initial idea through minimum viable product (MVP), validation, and production, emphasizing rapid feedback and learning. They collaborate with LSM leaders, automation experts, and engineers to prioritize work, clarify requirements and intended outcomes, and prepare actionable backlog items. They adapt Agile practices to the team's needs, use delivery data to improve flow and communicate value, and operate in an environment where requirements evolve. The posting is for proactive recruitment and may be used to fill current openings or future vacancies. The role uses a hybrid work model for office-based roles. Eligible US locations list a base compensation range of $118,400–$219,800 USD; Ontario, Canada lists $140,600–$190,600 CAD. The role may also be eligible for an annual bonus based on enterprise and individual performance.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience leading daily Agile delivery for high-output engineering, automation, or technology teams.
  • Deep practical understanding of small-batch delivery, cardinal prioritization, MVP development, iterative delivery, feedback loops, and limiting work in progress.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous ideas and business needs into actionable backlog items, including requirements clarification, story decomposition, backlog refinement, and meaningful acceptance criteria.
  • Comfort working with senior engineers, architects, and automation specialists, and ability to constructively challenge complexity, unclear priorities, and excessive work in progress without formal authority.
  • Skill in facilitating Agile practices that improve delivery and explaining how to measure software-delivery effectiveness, while remaining open to learning and adaptation.
  • Ability to use data to improve flow, support decisions, and communicate delivered value in an environment where requirements evolve and learning is part of delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or equivalent demonstrated Agile delivery experience.
  • Experience delivering AI Agents, generative AI, intelligent automation, or workflow automation, including lightweight business analysis such as requirements elicitation, process mapping, user-story development, and acceptance-criteria definition.
  • Experience with Lean or Kanban practices, including work-in-progress limits, cycle time, throughput, and aging-work analysis.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or practical technology service-management experience.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) or a similar backlog and delivery-management platform.
  • Experience delivering technology within enterprise security, governance, and responsible AI expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day Agile delivery of AI and automation experiments from idea through MVP, validation, and production, emphasizing rapid feedback and learning.
  • Partner with LSM leaders, automation experts, and engineers to maintain a clearly ordered backlog that makes work priorities explicit.
  • Prepare upcoming work for delivery by facilitating requirements discovery, clarifying intended outcomes, and helping define user stories, acceptance criteria, and definitions of done.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement, daily coordination, iteration planning, reviews, and retrospectives, adapting practices to the team's needs.
  • Break large or ambiguous opportunities into small valuable increments, limit work in progress, and help the team finish the highest-priority work before starting more.
  • Identify and remove barriers, resolve ambiguity, and bring the right experts together to keep priority work moving.
  • Use delivery data to identify bottlenecks, improve cycle time and throughput, support decisions, and communicate the value and learning the team produces.
