About The Position

Our client is a financial institution providing the United States with a safe, flexible, and stable monetary system. They are seeking an experienced Agile Coach. In this role you will, assess team maturity, create tailored coaching plans, and guide Agile teams through progressive capability building, improved performance, and sustainable Agile practices while helping teams navigate resistance to change. This role is onsite in Washington, DC. Per our client contract, candidates must be US Citizens able to pass the client’s background requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with a total of 12-15 years of experience.
  • At least seven (7) years of hands-on experience coaching Agile teams across various maturity levels in complex organizations.
  • At least one relevant certification, such as ICAgile Certified Professional - Agile Coaching, Certified Scrum Professional, SAFe Practice Consultant, or equivalent.
  • Proven track record assessing team capabilities, creating effective coaching strategies, and driving measurable improvements in team performance and Agile maturity.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate organizational resistance and adapt coaching approaches to different team contexts.
  • Experience working within established organizational playbooks and frameworks while introducing industry best practices.
  • Experience with Jira for work management.
  • Direct experience with Agile transformations in either the federal or private space.
  • US Citizenship is required.

  • Government or highly regulated industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess team maturity and create tailored coaching plans based on each team’s capabilities and starting point.
  • Guide teams through progressive Agile capability building and establish sustainable Agile practices.
  • Coach teams on Scrum, Scrumban, and Kanban events, artifacts, and roles.
  • Ensure teams apply Agile principles effectively and develop a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Navigate resistance to Agile adoption and build buy-in and engagement with new ways of working.
  • Address mindset and cultural barriers to transformation.
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Program Managers to ensure teams deliver value effectively.
  • Work within established organizational playbooks and frameworks while introducing industry best practices.
  • Drive measurable improvements in team performance and Agile maturity.
