About The Position

Latham Limestone is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven 2nd Shift Hourly Aggregate Production Foreman to lead and manage our team in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. As the 2nd Shift Hourly Aggregate Production Foreman, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management and production of our surface mining operation. Your leadership will ensure the successful execution of day-to-day operations, driving continuous improvement, and maximizing productivity. You will oversee a team of employees and work closely with senior management to meet production goals while maintaining a focus on quality, efficiency, and employee development.

Requirements

Experience in aggregate production or surface mining operations.
Strong operational knowledge of aggregate production processes, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarity with MSHA safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Ability to obtain or currently possess a Foreman’s License.
Ability to navigate tight areas
Rapid emergency egress
Climb ladders
Sit for extended periods of time
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a mining or production environment.
Proven track record of meeting production goals and optimizing operations for maximum efficiency.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Workday, JD Edwards One World software.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and direct plant personnel in daily operations.
Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable.
Promote a strong safety culture, empowering employees to report unsafe conditions or behaviors.
Conduct routine safety briefings and ensure proper PPE and safety protocols are followed.
Oversee aggregate plant operations, material flow, and production scheduling.
Walk the plant/pit to monitor progress and engage with the team.
Coordinate personnel, equipment, and materials to meet production goals and deadlines.
Adjust work plans in real time to respond to changes or unplanned events.
Manage daily production output, ensuring materials meet customer and quality specifications.
Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.
Track production KPIs and ensure alignment with operational targets.
Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Work closely with maintenance teams to implement repair plans and scheduled maintenance.
Direct emergency response actions during breakdowns to minimize production impact.
Ensure all activities meet MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations, compliance standards, and internal safety policies.
Conduct inspections to identify hazards and oversee corrective actions.
Communicate and coordinate with superintendents, maintenance, dispatch, and quality control.
Provide regular updates to leadership on operations, challenges, and resource needs.
Maintain open communication across shifts to ensure continuity of operations.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement through innovation and efficiency.
Identify training opportunities to build team skills and enhance performance.
Participate in budget planning and manage operations to meet monthly cost goals.
