About The Position

This is a temporary position with the Agency Office of State Human Resources Division Temporary Solutions. The role is responsible for providing a solid Human Resource management foundation, responsible oversight, and creative solutions through a collaborative approach with all stakeholders to maximize the potential of our greatest asset – OUR EMPLOYEES. This temporary position is located at 3200 Beachleaf Court, Raleigh / Remote (Hybrid) - Wake County, with the Department of Insurance. Temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time and must be fully qualified for the job. This role offers exposure to an agency's culture, process, procedures, and potential learning opportunities that can provide valuable experience for those seeking permanent employment with the state.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience required; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; or equivalent combination or education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Processing classification functions for the Department of Insurance.
  • Reviewing requests by Division managers for individual reclassifications and making determinations as to the correct classifications.
  • Prioritizing requests for studies based on the number of studies currently being conducted and the urgency of the request.
  • Conducting studies to address turnover concerns, which may involve trying to retain an employee or studying a vacant position before posting to see if another classification could result in fewer turnovers.
