About The Position

The Ag Yard Utility supports nursery operations and customer service at Moon Valley Nurseries. This is a farm position, and all duties are performed in person at one of the company’s farms. The role involves maintaining an orderly retail yard, routine equipment maintenance, loading and unloading nursery products, and assisting customers and colleagues. The employee must be flexible and available to work any day of the week, including weekdays and weekends.

Requirements

Ability to perform manual labor.
Ability to follow specific instructions and safety protocols.
Availability to work any day of the week.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including frequently lifting and moving items weighing up to and over 75 pounds, as stated in the English description.
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in potentially extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience operating power tools, hand tools, and other equipment.

Responsibilities

Organize and maintain the nursery yard, including communicating plant material waste, rearranging plants, trees, and other merchandise, and cleaning and tidying the yard.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on nursery equipment, including vehicles, forklifts, and hand tools, and ensure equipment is in safe working condition.
Load and unload plants, trees, and other nursery products into cars, trucks, trailers, vans, and other vehicles.
Provide friendly, helpful customer service and assist customers and colleagues.
Follow safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques, safe equipment operation, and safe merchandise handling.
Perform manual labor to help maintain the nursery, store materials, and fulfill customer orders.
Transport and mix topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other materials using hand tools to condition soil.
Dig, rake, and sift soil to fill pots and boxes for planting.
Be available to work any day of the week.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
