About The Position

ADM is seeking agile, forward-thinking individuals for its Grain Operations Leadership Development program to help shape the future of nutrition. This program combines challenging work at locations across the United States with structured training and networking opportunities, designed to develop the next generation of leaders for ADM’s Ag Operations business unit. Interns will gain firsthand experience in ADM’s grain operations capabilities, expertise, and expansive footprint, adding value to every part of the supply chain. They will be mentored by senior ADM operations leaders while honing leadership skills through various projects and assignments. Interns will complete assignments at ADM grain facilities, gaining diverse responsibilities, unique learning opportunities, and valuable experience working as part of a team and leading a team. They will be part of a leadership team facing complex challenges, wearing multiple hats to help solve them, and gaining exposure to a wide variety of areas by working on cross-functional teams focused on executing capital or optimization projects. Interns will identify challenges and implement solutions to improve efficiency, cost, and environmental impact. They will be empowered to do their best work and continue personal development through ADM’s extensive training programs, educational opportunities, and career development discussions.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a four-year degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and summer 2029.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 2.8.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
  • Willingness to relocate to an ADM location in North America.
  • Must be available for a 12-week internship from mid-May through early August 2027.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • ADM is unable to provide work visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Learning daily facility operations, including personnel management, safety and environmental compliance, food safety, quality control, production, cost optimization, and efficiencies.
  • Working with leaders and employees to develop a high level of job proficiency.
  • Understanding and analyzing maintenance performance and working to improve efficiencies.
  • Ensuring the safety of all personnel through compliance with occupational safety and health regulations; demonstrating safety leadership through participation in all safety processes with a goal of zero injuries.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Learning and applying mechanical and electrical knowledge to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds.
  • Proactively learning from facility management to improve employee safety, production quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Maintaining documentation and identifying cost-saving ideas.
  • Completing additional duties based on the needs of the assigned location.
