About The Position
The Goddard School in Hillsborough, New Jersey, is seeking an assistant teacher to support children in its aftercare program. Requirements
- Show empathy and compassion for young children.
- Work productively without supervision.
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds in connection with handling children.
- Pass required state background checks.
- Meet state minimum education, experience, and credential requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
- Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean, and inviting learning environment.
- Supervise children, provide individualized support, and foster a sense of belonging.
- Follow health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations.
- Help with snacks, homework, and activities for children in kindergarten through fourth grade.
