About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic, high-energy Afterschool Enrichment Lead Teacher to inspire New York City’s youngest learners (ages 2–6) and spark a lifelong love of learning through engaging, hands-on enrichment experiences. This is a true “jack-of-all-trades” role, part athlete, part scientist, part performer, where no two days look the same. From guiding a budding gymnast across the bars, to leading an exciting “mad science” experiment, to coaching a toddler through their very first steps, you bring enthusiasm, creativity, and heart to every interaction. As a natural storyteller with a flair for engagement and a passion for early childhood development, you create meaningful, memorable moments that build confidence, curiosity, and joy in every child.

Requirements

  • An Associates, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in ECE or a related field (or currently enrolled in a program) to be Lead Teacher qualified.
  • 2+ years of lead teaching experience in early childhood (ages 0-6).
  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Camp, after school, and other enrichment experiences are preferred.
  • Experience teaching music, dance, gymnastics, or yoga is a plus!
  • Be a passionate teacher and lifelong learner!

Responsibilities

  • Lead and co-lead a wide variety of enrichment classes for children ages 2–6.
  • Seamlessly adapt teaching style across programs, age groups, and activities.
  • Design and facilitate experiences using play, art, music, movement, gymnastics, and STEM to support each child’s growth.
  • Foster a “safe-to-fail” environment where exploration is encouraged and every small win is celebrated.
  • Keep the day running smoothly by anticipating needs and managing transitions with ease.
  • Reset gym circuits, organize materials, and support teammates.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and caregivers through consistent communication.
  • Share highlights, progress, and milestones with families.
  • Ensure a safe, joyful, and engaging classroom environment where every child thrives.
  • Anticipate classroom needs and prepare resources well in advance of instruction.
  • Execute smooth, efficient transitions between classes and activities to maximize learning time.
  • Cultivate trust-based relationships with students, families, and the internal team.
  • Maintain 100% compliance with all Department of Health compliance requirements.
