About The Position

Drive aftermarket growth across RBS’s North American installed equipment base by identifying and selling oven upgrades, modernization projects, preventive maintenance agreements, and spare parts solutions. The Aftermarket Technical Sales Manager role is responsible for supporting the Customer Care team with technical expertise, with a primary focus on R&M projects and equipment upgrade opportunities. This person will travel to customer sites to evaluate existing equipment, understand customer challenges, identify upgrade opportunities, and help develop technical solutions that lead to aftermarket project sales. This role is intended to support relationship-driven sales efforts by bringing deeper equipment knowledge, technical problem-solving, and project scoping capability to the customer discussion.

Requirements

  • 8 to 10 plus years of experience with industrial equipment, field service, technical sales, applications, or project execution
  • Strong mechanical understanding required.
  • Electrical and controls knowledge preferred
  • Experience with OEM machinery, food processing equipment, or bakery equipment strongly preferred
  • Ability to evaluate older equipment and identify practical upgrade paths
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both customers and internal teams
  • Experience building project scopes, estimates, or quotes preferred
  • Comfortable traveling approximately 50 percent within North America
  • Willingness to travel internationally when needed
  • Strong customer care mindset and ability to support relationship-based selling
  • Ability to serve as a mentor and train other colleagues to be self-sufficient (Adjunct Professor)
  • Sales minded mindset and a drive to help the team deliver on sales targets

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to review equipment condition, performance issues, and upgrade opportunities
  • Support the Customer Care team by providing technical expertise during customer visits and project discussions
  • Identify and help develop R&M opportunities, including equipment upgrades, rebuilds, retrofits, safety improvements, and performance improvements
  • Work with customers to understand current challenges and develop practical solutions
  • Build or support quotes for R&M projects, including scope, parts, labor, service needs, and technical requirements
  • Help present technical solutions to customers and support the sales process through project close
  • Work closely with Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Service, Parts, and Project Management teams to ensure proposed solutions are achievable
  • Support customer satisfaction by helping define clear scopes and reducing risk before projects are sold
  • Assist relationship focused sales team members in identifying technical opportunities during customer visits
  • Document findings from site visits and communicate required follow up internally
  • Support continuous improvement by bringing field feedback back to Engineering, Service, and Customer Care leadership
