The Aftermarket Sales Specialist plays a critical role in growing Colanar's aftermarket business while ensuring a high level of customer service and communication. This is a hybrid sales and customer support position combining inside sales, aftermarket/outside sales, account management, and customer service responsibilities. The Aftermarket Sales Specialist will own the aftermarket sales process for existing and prospective customers, with a primary focus on proactively selling spare parts, change parts, consumables, service agreements, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and other aftermarket services. The role will also support the Aftermarket Service team with order execution and collaborate with the OpCo President and Sales Leadership on go-to-market (GTM) initiatives, forecasting, and business development activities. This position is ideal for a customer-focused sales professional who enjoys building long-term relationships, identifying opportunities within an existing customer base, and combining proactive selling with responsive customer support.

Requirements

  • Willingness to travel overnight as needed; valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • 1-2 years of outside sales experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical manufacturing or any after-market sales experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience selling capital equipment and complex technical solutions.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, production environments, and automation technologies.
  • Ability to understand customer applications and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency using CRM systems to manage opportunities, customer activity, forecasting, and sales reporting.
  • Ability to support technical sales presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aftermarket sales, spare parts, consumables, service agreements, equipment service, or technical products is highly preferred.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or another CRM system is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Aftermarket Sales Growth: Take ownership of aftermarket sales activity and consistently work toward achieving sales, revenue, and profitability goals for parts, consumables, change parts, service agreements, and other aftermarket services.
  • Develop Aftermarket Opportunities & Drive Proactive Selling: Proactively identify and pursue aftermarket sales opportunities with existing and prospective customers, including spare parts, change parts, consumables, service agreements, and other aftermarket offerings. Identify opportunities during FATs, customer visits, service interactions, and other key customer touchpoints to increase aftermarket revenue.
  • Grow Service Agreements: Monitor expiring warranties and proactively promote extended service contracts, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and annual or multi-year aftermarket service agreements to key accounts.
  • Manage Aftermarket Quotes & Customer Expectations: Generate accurate and timely quotes for parts, consumables, service, and other aftermarket requirements while clearly communicating pricing, availability, delivery timelines, and service availability to customers.
  • Build & Manage Customer Relationships: Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by serving as a primary point of contact for aftermarket needs, responding to inquiries, identifying opportunities, providing timely communication, and ensuring consistent follow-through.
  • Support Customer Service, Order Execution & Service Coordination: Work closely with the Aftermarket Service Manager and internal teams to ensure customer orders are accurately communicated, processed, and executed in a timely manner. Support the scheduling of preventive maintenance, field service, and other activities associated with MSAs and service agreements while keeping customers informed throughout the process.
  • Maintain CRM Accuracy: Consistently document customer interactions, quotes, sales activities, service information, and follow-up within Salesforce CRM to maintain accurate customer and sales records.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with the Aftermarket Service Manager, Sales Leadership, Finance/Accounting, and other cross-functional teams to support customer needs, order execution, billing, collections, forecasting, and overall aftermarket sales performance.
  • Support Go-to-Market Strategy & Track Performance: Participate in GTM planning, sales forecasting, customer strategy, and other business development initiatives while monitoring aftermarket sales, costs, and profitability to support financial goals and performance metrics.
  • Represent Colanar at Customer & Industry Events: Support and participate in FATs, trade shows, customer meetings, training, and other events that create opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and generate aftermarket sales.
  • Travel to Support Customers: Maintain a strong customer-facing presence with approximately 50% travel, including overnight travel as needed for training, customer support, FATs, trade shows, and other business activities.
