About The Position

Jovie is an independently owned, community and purpose-driven organization that provides caregivers with training, resources, and support to develop their childcare skills and confidence on the job. Jovie families need your joy, your sense of fun, and your childcare know-how. Jovie has helped thousands of parents find childcare with full or part-time nannies and sitters and emergency back-up care. This role is for an amazing Des Peres family seeking an attentive and patient after-school sitter for three children (ages 9, 11, 13) Monday-Friday from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM. One child has special needs and requires constant attention, including transfers to/from a wheelchair and changing incontinent briefs. The family prefers someone experienced with special needs or open to learning.

Requirements

Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
Must be willing to transport children as part of duties.
Subject to a mandatory background check.
Experience with special needs or open to learning.
Consistent, kind, patient, motivated, and able to stay on schedule.

Responsibilities

Share meaningful moments with little ones through play.
Keep a watchful eye to ensure every child feels secure and well-protected.
Prepare yummy snacks to keep everyone energized.
Lead the way in "clean-up time," teaching the kids to help restore the home after a day of fun.
Become an honorary member of the family by building deep, trusting relationships with parents and kids alike.
Transfer the child with special needs to/from wheelchair to change incontinent briefs.
