About The Position

The After School Program Leader fosters youth development in an after-school setting by leading elementary students in enrichment activities. The role is part-time, non-exempt, and averages 17–20 hours per week during the school calendar year. Leaders serve as role models and support children in reaching their full potential.

Mentoring Alliance is a Christian ministry that provides after-school care and activities for children and students in the community. Its mission is to mobilize godly people into the lives of children and families, offering tangible help and eternal hope. Team members are expected to want to influence, impact, and serve children and families. The organization considers an After School Program Leader first and foremost a Minister of the Gospel.

Requirements

• Agree with and exhibit behaviors in accordance with the Mentoring Alliance Statement of Faith.
• Be at least 17 years of age.
• Have a passion for and love of working with elementary school-aged children.
• Be able to work Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., during the school calendar year.
• Be able to earn CPR/First Aid certification; certification is mandatory.
• Pass a mandatory background and sex offender check.
• Have a valid driver’s license or valid ID.
• Be legally allowed to work in the United States.
• Have dependable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• A high school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
• Some post-secondary training is highly preferred.
• Experience working with elementary school-aged children is preferred.
• Spanish-speaking ability is greatly valued.
