Supervision of children in a classroom setting at the end of the regular school time period. This role provides support to the Director to ensure a safe, healthy, and stimulating educational environment. The After School Program Help plans, prepares, and develops various activities for use in the classroom, which could include activity sheets, drawings, and hands-on activities. They will lead classroom activities at the Director’s discretion and assist children, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments or activities to present or reinforce learning concepts. Disciplinary strategies will be used as structured and implemented by the Director, such as positive reinforcement, VBRD virtues, and other positive behavior management. The role requires attending pertinent After-School staff meetings throughout the year and performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Accountability for assigned students is crucial, including knowing and approving of student locations at all times, and practicing Safe Environment protocol at all times. This position is a role model for students, requiring appropriate business casual clothing (no graphic/concert t-shirts, no low-cut neckline shirts, no shorts) and awareness of developmentally appropriate vocabulary. The employee must abide by all policies as outlined in the Catholic Schools Office Handbook of Policies and Procedures for Elementary and Secondary Schools.
