The After School Program Assistant Coordinator will assist the Program Coordinator in all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the program at the school site, including facilities management, attendance tracking and reporting, staffing, discipline, state/school requirements, and compliance. They will also assist in the coordination of student activities designed to address program goals and support the program coordinator in the supervision of the program. The role involves writing lesson plans, using learning targets and instructional strategies, and supporting program staff in developing within these areas. The Assistant Coordinator must be able to work every day during program hours and commit to all required dates for the position. They must have experience working with youth and supervising volunteers or staff, and a general knowledge of core elementary/middle school subjects. Strong classroom and behavioral management skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently or as a member of a team. Professional communication with the program coordinator, students, parents, community partners, and program and school staff is required, along with maintaining confidentiality and integrity. The ability to handle multiple priorities and strict deadlines is also necessary.
