About The Position

A family in North Riverside is seeking an experienced, caring after-school nanny for their 7-year-old daughter. Care is needed Monday through Friday, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., approximately 10 hours per week, on an ongoing basis. The start date is ASAP. The family may occasionally need care on school closure days; this is a plus but not required, and anticipated dates can be provided well in advance. Compensation is $25 per hour.

The child enjoys art, music, and outdoor activities, including walks in the family’s neighborhood. The nanny will pick her up from school, approximately one mile from home, using a personal vehicle, and provide attentive care, homework support, an after-school snack, and age-appropriate activities. The nanny will also support a consistent routine and communicate with the parents about daily activities and concerns. The household has two cats and one dog.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• At least 2 years of paid, professional childcare experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to provide at least 2 professional childcare references.
• CPR certified or willing to become certified.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
• Able to successfully clear a background check and social media screening.
• Comfortable with the family’s two cats and one dog.
• Reliable, punctual, patient, and engaging, with a positive approach to homework help.

Nice To Haves

• Availability for occasional school closure days; this is not required.
