About The Position
We are seeking enthusiastic and creative After School Instructors to lead engaging classes in STEM and Arts for students in grades K-5. This role involves teaching subjects such as STEAM, Pottery, Electronic Game Design, Wacky Science, and Visual Arts. The program runs from September 2026 to January 2027, with classes held Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at our Providence, RI location.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a K-5th grade setting.
- Knowledge and passion for STEM and/or Arts education.
- Ability to manage a classroom and engage young learners.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must be available to work Monday - Friday from 3:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
- Must be able to commit to the program dates from September 2026 to January 2027.
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching specific subjects like Pottery, Electronic Game Design, Wacky Science, or Visual Arts.
- Background in STEAM education.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Lead and instruct students in various STEM and Arts subjects, including STEAM, Pottery, Electronic Game Design, Wacky Science, and Visual Arts.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for K-5th grade students.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and positive learning environment.
- Engage students in hands-on learning experiences.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and program coordinators.
- Prepare materials and set up the classroom for each session.
- Participate in program activities such as mini camps and field trips as needed.
