About The Position

The YMCA of the North Shore partners with Salem Public Schools to provide hands-on visual arts enrichment for Pre-K and elementary school students. The instructor leads age-appropriate activities in a supportive and inclusive environment, helping children explore artistic interests, express themselves, develop skills, and build confidence. Candidates may be available for one or more program days. The role is approximately 8–10 hours per week at the Salem YMCA in Salem, Massachusetts.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Passion for visual arts and the ability to lead engaging, age-appropriate art activities.
Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
Must be able to actively supervise children and maintain a safe environment.
Must be able to respond appropriately and promptly to unexpected situations.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with children or youth, preferably in a school, childcare, or youth program setting.
Creativity, patience, organization, and enthusiasm.
Ability to adapt projects to different developmental levels and abilities.
Values inclusion, teamwork, and positive youth development.

Responsibilities
