The YWCA of the City of New York (YW-NYC) is a social justice organization dedicated to addressing issues at the intersection of race, class, and gender. Founded in 1858, YW-NYC serves New York City school children through leadership and advocacy training and Out-of-School Time (OST) programs. The Education Specialist oversees curriculum development, ensuring lessons are standards-aligned, infuse Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and restorative practices, and promote hands-on learning. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing lesson plans, training staff, planning culminating events, conducting activity observations, and providing staff coaching. This position reports to the site Program Director and requires a positive youth development lens, collaborative relationships, use of evidence-based practices, accountability for program results, and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
