After School Dance Teacher
About The Position
Teach after-school dance classes for children ages 5–10 at elementary schools across the Bay Area. Programs run Monday through Friday between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. This is an in-person, part-time role, typically involving one class of about one hour per day, with the possibility of an additional 30 minutes of pre-care. Classes generally have 8–16 students and focus on creating a fun, energetic environment for younger and beginner-level children. The posting lists compensation as $50–$65 per session and also states $50–$65 per hour. The company provides the equipment and lesson plans. Coaches must attend a two-day training or shadowing session before starting. Applicants must live locally, be eligible to work in the U.S., and be available for in-person work. Requirements
- Must be at least 19 years old upon application.
- Must currently live locally and be available for in-person work.
- Must enjoy working with children in a positive and active setting.
- Must be flexible, reliable, and punctual.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be fully vaccinated and willing to undergo a TB test and Live Scan background check before starting.
- Must already be eligible to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not provided.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the sport being applied for, coaching, or working with children is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Teach dance classes for students ages 5–10 using provided lesson plans.
- Manage class sizes of 8–16 students and maintain a positive environment.
- Attend a two-day training or shadowing session before starting.
- Take attendance and manage student sign-ins.
- Interact with parents and school staff.
- Capture a few class photos for documentation.
- Provide a photo and short biography for the company website, including an introduction to relevant sports experience.
