About The Position

LIFT Enrichment is hiring a seasonal, part-time Chef Teacher to lead fun, hands-on cooking workshops for students in Title I schools in Delano, California. The role involves teaching elementary and middle school students, generally in grades K–8, using a provided curriculum. Professional chef experience is not required; training is provided.

The schedule is 2 to 3 days per week, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. A typical day includes two workshops and approximately five paid hours covering grocery shopping, preparation, teaching, and cleanup. The rate is $25 per hour. Paid training, mileage reimbursement, and a phone stipend are offered.

Requirements

• Be energetic and engaging.
• Be reliable and punctual.
• Be confident leading a group of children.
• Have basic cooking skills and be happy preparing tasty treats.
• Be able to commute to assigned schools.
• Enjoy cooking and working with children; professional culinary experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of 15–20 students in hands-on cooking activities.
• Teach fun, healthy recipes using the provided curriculum.
• Introduce students to basic cooking, nutrition, and kitchen safety.
• Keep students engaged, excited, and involved.
• Manage workshop setup, cooking, and cleanup.
• Grocery shop and prepare ingredients as needed.
• Transport program supplies to the school.
