About The Position

LIFT Enrichment is hiring seasonal, part-time Chef Teachers to lead fun, hands-on cooking workshops for elementary school students in Title I schools. The position serves schools in Hawthorne USD, Inglewood USD, and Long Beach, California. Professional chef experience is not required; training and a provided curriculum are offered. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 2–3 days per week, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. A typical day includes teaching two workshops, with approximately five paid hours covering grocery shopping, preparation, teaching, and cleanup. The rate is $28 per hour. The company also provides paid training, mileage reimbursement, prompt grocery-shopping reimbursement, and a phone stipend.

Have basic cooking skills and be happy preparing tasty treats.
Be able to commute to assigned schools.
Enjoy cooking and working with children; professional culinary experience is not required.

Responsibilities

Lead groups of 15–20 students in grades K–8 through hands-on cooking activities.
Teach fun, healthy recipes using the provided curriculum.
Introduce students to basic cooking, nutrition, and kitchen safety.
Keep students engaged, excited, and involved.
Manage setup, cooking, and cleanup.
Grocery shop and prepare ingredients as needed.
Transport program supplies to the school.
