About The Position

After-Hours Program Supervisors provide crisis management support to our 24/7 care programs. You will coach and mentor front-line employees such as Child and Youth Care Workers (CYCWs). Leading by example, you will actively support children and youth with complex needs, build trusting relationships, and set a gold standard of high quality care for frontline employees. Your work is grounded in harm reduction and crisis response. This work is demanding. It will stretch your patience and creativity. It will give you the chance to make a positive impact on the "lives of individuals in care."

Requirements

  • 2 years of proven hands-on experience managing crisis situations in care (required).
  • 2 years verifiable experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health needs (required).
  • Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Community Addictions and Mental Health, or a related field (required).
  • Experience working with Children and Family Services, FSCD, or PDD.
  • In-depth knowledge of harm reduction and home care best practices.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Clear Alberta 3-year Driver’s Abstract.
  • Own a reliable 4-door vehicle to transport persons served.
  • Alberta vehicle registration.
  • $2 Million Alberta Auto Insurance Liability coverage.
  • Clear Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check obtained in last 6 months.
  • Clear Intervention Record Check obtained in last 6 months.
  • Valid Standard/Intermediate First Aid with CPR Level C (Canadian Provider in person or blended).

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of supervisory experience in front-line care (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Manage crises occurring after-hours.
  • Provide mentorship to front-line employees, ensuring they deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care.
  • Support program operations, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow organization.
  • Monitor performance and provide coaching to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Complete Critical Incident Reports ensuring safety compliance with policies.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including Children’s Services, FSCD, and PDD, to coordinate care and support services.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (People and Culture, Finance, Communications) to ensure operational success.
  • Provide support to maintain smooth program operations.
