The After-Hours Clinician recommends and assists with access to medical, educational, social, vocational, housing, and more to support program goals. They initiate referrals to the next level of care, coordinate with physical health providers to ensure whole-person care, and advocate in the best interest of clients. This role includes an On Call Shift Schedule: 4 nights per week 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM. The After-Hours Clinician will automatically receive a 2-hour stipend for each assigned shift, and any time on calls or in the field.

Requirements

Master’s degree and CA BBS registration or license (MFT, LCSW, LPCC) required.
Valid CA driver’s license and current auto insurance per contract requirements required.
Cultural competency understanding required.

Nice To Haves

Experience providing mental health and/or substance use disorder services preferred.
Bilingual preferred.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHR software preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide assessments, mental health evaluations, family-individual-group therapy, plan development, case consultation, crisis intervention, discharge placement, and assist clients in meeting basic needs and symptom management.
Complete accurate and timely documentation, meet minimum billable requirements for direct client services.
Facilitate placement including pre-placement visits, and transportation as needed.
Shift coverage including part of the on-call team.
Provide field-based services as required by program and client need.
Maintain confidentiality of client’s care.
Participate in scheduled program meetings.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Respond to after-hours calls for ACT clients and collateral contacts, providing telephonic triage and initiating in-person crisis response when clinically indicated.
Conduct crisis-focused assessments, including mental status and risk evaluation, and implement stabilization interventions such as de-escalation and safety planning.
Determine and coordinate appropriate levels of care during crisis situations, including collaboration with emergency services, hospitals, and other community partners as needed.
